Is Your Mother Behaving Oddly?

Dear Agony Aunt

Mother, for some time now, has taken to rushing into the hallway, bending at the knees and howling whenever a passing fire-engine sounds.

I've not said anything to her but is the twinkle in her eye, as I suspect, an attention-seeking one, or is it a twinkle from the nursing-home?
